Attribution

Last-click attribution

A rule that credits the most recent eligible affiliate touchpoint before conversion.

Definition

Last-click attribution gives commission to the final qualifying partner interaction before signup, payment or another conversion event. It is simple to explain and common in affiliate programs.

B2B SaaS context

In SaaS, last-click can reward high-intent comparison and deal pages, but may miss partners who introduced the product earlier. It works best when paired with fraud checks and coupon rules.

Operator note

Define the lookback window and whether branded search, coupon codes or direct sales referrals can supersede an earlier partner touch.

Turn the definition into operating rules

RefCampaign helps recurring SaaS teams translate attribution, refunds and payout policies into a partner program that can be audited.
