Attribution

Attribution window

The time period in which a referral interaction can receive credit for a later conversion.

Definition

An attribution window sets the maximum delay between a partner touchpoint and the conversion that can be credited. It can apply to clicks, coupons, leads, demos or backend payment events.

B2B SaaS context

B2B SaaS attribution windows must account for longer consideration cycles and multiple stakeholders. A 90-day rule may fit self-serve trials, while enterprise referrals may need sales-accepted lead rules instead.

Operator note

Clarify which event starts the window, which event closes it, and how conflicts are resolved when multiple affiliates touch the same buyer.

Turn the definition into operating rules

RefCampaign helps recurring SaaS teams translate attribution, refunds and payout policies into a partner program that can be audited.
