Revenue

MRR commission

A commission calculated from monthly recurring revenue rather than a one-time signup amount.

Definition

An MRR commission pays an affiliate based on the subscription revenue generated by the referred account during a defined period. It ties partner compensation to recurring SaaS economics instead of treating every conversion as a one-time ecommerce order.

B2B SaaS context

For B2B SaaS teams, MRR commission design affects payback period, affiliate motivation and finance reconciliation. The rule should specify whether expansion, downgrades, pauses, discounts and churn change the affiliate payout base.

Operator note

Define the payable revenue source in the billing system, the number of months eligible for commission, and how refunds or failed invoices claw back unpaid or already paid amounts.

Turn the definition into operating rules

RefCampaign helps recurring SaaS teams translate attribution, refunds and payout policies into a partner program that can be audited.
